FRANCE: New president for Bordeaux wine body
Bordeaux wine trade body, the CIVB, has announced the election of Georges Haushalter as its new president succeeding Alain Vironneau. Haushalter, 50, has been the Managing Director of Bordeaux trader, La Compagnie Médocaine des Grands Crus since 2002 and is already a CIVB vice-president.
According to the CIVB’s statutes, its presidency is held alternately by a wine producer and a wine trader. Vironneau, a producer of AOC Bordeaux supérieur, had been at the helm since 2006.
